Justice Reform Advocacy Working Group

The Justice Reform Working Group was created to help address the school to prison pipeline that disproportionately affects individuals with IDD and the need for intentionality in working toward the increased employability of individuals with IDD post high school. Historically, a vast majority of juvenile justice involved youth are also individuals with disabilities.  Our goal is to identify and implement actionable advocacy efforts that engage individuals with IDD, their families, and their communities. We also aim to coordinate these efforts for maximum impact on both local and state levels related to education, discipline, and employability issues for youth and young adults with IDD.
