Texas Medicaid Waiver Programs & Wait Lists

Do you have questions about the various Medicaid Waiver programs, Community First Choice (CFC) and
STAR+PLUS? Then join us Saturday, October 15th, at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco to learn important information about Texas long-term services and supports that may be available to your family. This session will include an overview of the benefits available through Medicaid and Texas Home and Community-Based Services and answer frequently asked questions such as who is eligible, how to apply and how the process works. He will also discuss the current waiting lists for long-term services and supports, why they exist and how individuals can help address the issue.
Leading this discussion will be Jeff Miller, JD, Policy Specialist with Disability Rights Texas (DRTx). Jeff has held various positions at DRTx starting in 2006, including work in the areas of health care access, community integration, and special education. He is currently a Policy Specialist focusing on various issues including alternatives to guardianship, voting rights and special education.
In addition to extensive professional experience, Jeff is able to share his personal experiences as a father of a son with disabilities. Jeff received his law degree from the University of Louisville School of Law and holds a B.A. in Speech Communication from the University of Houston.
